SafeLink is a government-sponsored program that provides a free cell phone and airtime each month to qualifying customers. The goal behind partnering with low-income social service organizations is to enable more people to become aware of their eligibility for this program and to help generate additional resources for these organizations.

Our program is tailored to adequately cover the many programs and services they provide—from energy assistance to more complex programs such as Head Starts. The Unemployment Services Trust (UST) is an alternative to paying state unemployment taxes for nonprofits, as allowed by Federal law. With the ability to save thousands on unemployment costs annually, e-File unemployment claims with the state, and access expert HR Advisors through our HR Hotline and Library — more than 2,000 nonprofits have chosen to join UST. Mutual of America's 403(b) Thrift plan is an employer-sponsored retirement savings plan that operates much like the 401(k) plan. The 403(b) Thrift plan is only available to employees of public schools and charities exempt from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) section 501(c)(3) (not-for-profit tax-exempt employers that are not wholly owned by a state or local government) and to church or qualified church-controlled organizations as described in Section 3121(w)(3) of the IRC. We enable nonprofit leaders to identify and manage risks that threaten their missions and operations, while empowering them to leverage opportunities and take bold, mission-advancing risks. Community Action Partnership and Springfield College School of Professional and Continuing Studies have solidified an agreement in which staff employed by member agencies of the Partnership can access education and training opportunities. Specifically, staff enrolled in Springfield College School of Professional and Continuing Studies's nonprofit leadership, human services, and early childhood education programs can earn undergraduate credits for completing training modules offered by the partnership. The School of Professional and Continuing Studies offers bachelor's and master's degrees to adults who are determined to transform their careers and their communities.
By earning undergraduate credit for life, work experience, training and certifications, students can graduate in as little as 16 months, saving them time and money. Face-to-face classes are typically held two weekends a month so that individuals working for Community Action Partnership agencies and in human services related positions can earn their degrees without major disruption to their work or family responsibilities. There are online class options.
Partnership members enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Human Services program at a School of Professional and Continuing Studies campus can earn experiential learning credits for completing these Partnership training modules:
- ROMA - 6 credits
- Strengths-Based Family Workers - 4 credits
- Family Development Credential - 6 credits
Springfield College's School has nine campuses-Wilmington, DE; Tampa Bay, FL; Boston and Springfield, MA; Charleston, SC; Houston, TX; St. Johnsbury, VT; and Milwaukee, WI.
The School is now accepting applications for May 2017, September 2017, and January 2018.
